Since she was made lieutenant on the spot, she wouldn’t have her rank on her sleeves.
If that’s the explanation, why does she still not have them in the new Into Darkness stills?
So I badly… BADLY want to do a 2009 movie Uhura-style uniform. The only thing that is stopping me is I can’t figure out where the heck rank goes on the dress. It’s like they said, “Lose the sleeves, it’ll look sexier and more modern,” without any regard to maintaining the illusion that it is supposed to be a functional military uniform too. And that kind of bothers me.
Where should the rank go on the dress, since there are no sleeves?
Edit: Still don’t see a rank on her uniform in these Into Darkness stills. Like it makes sense for Checkov not to have any because he’s an Ensign. But Uhura is supposed to be a Lieutenant… And everybody else has rank stripes.

The local Minneapolis and St Paul Goth scene wasn’t in the best condition when I moved here about a year ago. But its steadily getting worse. Recently 18+, no cover, “Goth” night: Hard Mondays at local bar The Saloon made the decision to cut its Darker Monday (a special night were you can hear actual post-punk, new wave, Gothic rock) from once a month to fucking 4 times a YEAR! The reason given on their facebook page was drink sales were down these days.Next night is April 22.
Please if you care at all about the local twin cities goth scene, show up, and make it known that you care about post-punk music. I’m sick of watching the goth scene fall apart while no one does anything about it.
also don’t be fooled by that poster, they hardly play industrial anymore, let alone goth music. It mostly sounds like dubstep, and techno lately.
Guess I’m going to Hard Mondays next week!

I am wearing Batman pajamas under my clothes today, just in case I have to fight crime with the power of comfort.
I just bought these boots brand new for $3 on clearance at Target. They’re not really my style at all, but I thought, “$3? There is bound to be a cosplay I can use these for some day.”
Man, they’re actually pretty comfortable too.
I also scored a bunch of DC & Marvel superhero stuff at 70% off that was left over from Christmas. (Shopping is my super power.)
